Policy

Human Rights and Labor Policy

Chronotope Labs, Inc.

1. Purpose and scope

Chronotope Labs, Inc. ("Chronotope") respects the human rights and labor rights of everyone our business touches. This policy applies to all Chronotope directors, officers, employees, contractors and advisors, in every country where we work, and sets out what we expect of our suppliers and business partners.

2. Our commitment

Chronotope is committed to respecting internationally recognized human rights, as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We conduct our business in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

We comply with all applicable labor, employment, health and safety, and anti-discrimination laws in the jurisdictions where we operate. Where local law and this policy differ, we apply the standard that offers greater protection to the individual.

3. Labor standards

No forced labor or human trafficking. All work at Chronotope is voluntary. We do not use forced, bonded, indentured or involuntary labor of any kind, and we do not retain identity documents or require deposits as a condition of employment.

Written, voluntary terms. Every employment, contractor and internship relationship is entered into freely and documented in a written agreement, provided before work starts, that states the role, compensation, working hours, benefits and termination terms in a language the person understands (English or Spanish). We do not charge recruitment fees, and anyone is free to end the relationship with the notice the agreement provides.

No child labor; young workers. Before any offer of employment, internship or contract work, we verify the candidate's age against a government-issued identity document. We do not offer work to anyone below the legal minimum working age or the age for completing compulsory education in the relevant jurisdiction, whichever is higher, and never below 15. People aged 15 to 17 are engaged only through structured internship or apprenticeship programs designed for their educational benefit, with the consents the law requires, and never in hazardous work, night work, work at mines or industrial sites, overtime, or hours that interfere with schooling, in line with ILO Conventions 138 and 182 and local law (in Mexico, Title Five Bis of the Federal Labor Law).

Non-discrimination and dignity at work. We hire, pay, promote and treat people on the basis of merit. We do not discriminate on grounds of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, political opinion, union membership or any other characteristic protected by law. Harassment, abuse, intimidation and corporal punishment are prohibited.

Freedom of association. We respect the right of employees to form or join trade unions, to bargain collectively and to communicate openly with management about working conditions, without fear of reprisal.

Wages and working hours. We pay at least the legally required minimum wage and benefits, on time, with clear documentation. Working hours comply with applicable law, and overtime is voluntary and compensated as the law requires.

Health and safety. We provide a safe and healthy working environment, including when our personnel work remotely or at client sites, where we also follow the host site's safety rules.

Privacy. We handle the personal information of our employees, clients and partners lawfully and with care.

4. Suppliers and business partners

We expect suppliers, contractors and business partners to meet the standards in this policy within their own operations, as set out in our Supplier Code of Conduct. Our agreements with suppliers include a clause requiring them to prevent, avoid and eradicate child labor, forced labor and labor obtained from victims of human trafficking, in their operations and in their own supply chains, and giving us the right to request evidence of compliance. We take these standards into account when selecting and retaining partners, and we may end a relationship with a partner that violates them and does not remediate.

5. Raising concerns and remediation

Anyone, whether an employee, contractor, candidate, supplier, client employee or member of a community where we work, can raise a concern about a possible violation of this policy through the channels in our Speak-Up and Remediation Procedure, including a channel that does not go through the Chief Executive Officer, and anonymously if they prefer. Every report is acknowledged, assessed and, where warranted, investigated promptly and impartially. Where our activities have caused or contributed to harm to a person's rights, we stop the harm, remedy it and correct what allowed it to happen. Chronotope does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith or takes part in an investigation.

6. Training, governance and review

Every person who works for Chronotope reads this policy and the related policies below when they join and confirms in writing that they have understood them. Everyone then completes a refresher session at least once a year, led by the Chief Executive Officer, covering human and labor rights, non-discrimination, harassment prevention, health and safety, and how to raise a concern. Additional briefings are given before work at client sites.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for this policy, for communicating it to all personnel, and for reviewing it at least once a year or whenever our operations change materially. This policy is published at chronotope.ai and is available to anyone on request.

7. Related policies

This policy is implemented together with the Equal Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, the Anti-Harassment and Respectful Workplace Policy, the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy, the Supplier Code of Conduct and the Speak-Up and Remediation Procedure.
